Ethanol Fireplaces Explained:
What is bio ethanol?
Bio Ethanol, otherwise known as denatured alcohol, is a renewable energy source made by fermenting components of plant by-products. It is made from corn, potatoes, rice and several other crops.
Natural Beauty.
When ethanol is burned, it produces beautiful and lively orange flames that lick the air with grace. Because it burns clean, you don't have to worry about the hassle of a chimney, flue or vent. Simply fill and light!
Clean and Green.
When you burn bio ethanol, it produces just three things: water vapor (steam), heat and carbon dioxide (co2). The carbon dioxide emitted by ethanol is absorbed by plants. Through photosynthesis it is processed and helps the plant grow.
Are you keeping track?
If you are, you'll realize that it is an infinite cycle. Therefore, this cyclic process makes ethanol a carbon-neutral fuel source, thus environmentally safe and Eco-friendly.
Don't be confused.
As many of us know, ethanol can be mixed with petrol to make a sustainable fuel for the car. However, ethanol used in gasoline and that used in fireplaces differs in concentration, etc. Therefore, only ethanol labeled for fireplace use should be employed in any fireplace.

Operating an Ethanol Burner:
Step One: Adjust the burner's lid to its widest opening. Fill the burner with ethanol fuel. Be careful not to exceed the burner's fill line. Do not overfill or spill. Any ethanol that is spilled should be cleaned up with a tissue and disposed of. Wipe burner down with water and cleanse hands thoroughly should you spill fuel on yourself.
If you are using decorative items, such as ceramic pebbles or logs, be sure that they aren't covering the opening.
Ethanol Fuel must be kept a safe distance (minimum of 40 inches) from the fireplace. Do not place fuel near burner when igniting.
Step Two: Use a long match or lighter to ignite. When lighting your ethanol fireplace, keep an arm's length away from the burner's opening and do not stand directly over the burner.
Note: Ethanol will burn low at first. Please allow 10-15 minutes to reach desired flame height and temperature.
Extinguishing an Ethanol Burner:
Never extinguish an ethanol flame with water.
1. If you wish to extinguish the fire before the fuel has been fully consumed, use the extinguishing tool or lever (depending on the model) to close the burner's cover. Do this in a quick manner to "suffocate" the flame. If the flame isn't extinguished thereafter, repeat the process to success.
2. Do not touch the fireplace when burning. Please allow 15-20 minutes after extinguishing before touching the fireplace and/or burner.
3. It is recommended that you keep a Class B fire extinguisher in close proximity in case of an uncontrollable flame.
NEVER REFILL THE BURNER WHILE OPERATING OR STILL HOT. NEVER POUR ETHANOL FUEL INTO A BURNING FLAME.
